Samsung announced the official sales figures of their Samsung Galaxy S3. According to the company’s statistics, 30 million devices were sold for just 5 months. The statistics were released in a blog post which also noted that the S3’s predecessor, S2, saw only 10 million sales for the same period.

JK Shin, head of the IT and Mobile Communications Department at Samsung, stated: “The S3 will continue growing and to be honest, I’m not surprised that it is the most successful smartphone at the moment. The S3 set a new sales record for our company and this motivates us to keep developing the Galaxy S-line in order to produce even more affordable and high performance smartphones.
